POSITION:  Payroll Clerk

LOCATION: District Office - Business Services Department

HOURS:  4 Hours Per Day (8:30am - 12:30pm)

DAYS:  259 Days Per Year (will be prorated based on start date)

SALARY:  $26.98 - $29.81 Per Hour (Trades 1)

BENEFITS:  PERS, Medical, Dental, Vision, Optional Insurances, Paid Leaves, Holiday Pay, etc.

START DATE:  May 1, 2024, or when filled

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT(S):  The position of Payroll Clerk is for the purpose of processing, under supervision, the District’s entire payroll, including preparation of paychecks, direct deposits, payroll liability payments, and required quarterly and annual reports; assuring the accuracy and compliance of reports/time sheets/spreadsheets, etc.; assuring accurate program and funds distribution; and providing Federal, State and District personnel with requested information necessary for providing timely and accurate payment of district employees.

JOB REQUIREMENTS – QUALIFICATIONS:

Skill in the use of 10-key, Word, Excel, and other typical office computer applications.  Use of English in both written and verbal form, use of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, and ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.  Ability to use Infinite Visions or learn the use of this accounting program.  Ability to create and maintain organized physical workflow and electronic filing systems.  Experience with a full-cycle payroll system preferred.

 

Knowledge of accounting principles, appropriate laws, codes, and regulations.

 

Ability to sit for prolonged periods, use a computer and keyboard for extended periods of time, work under supervision accurately and with attention to detail, understand and carry out oral and written instruction.  Significant physical abilities include reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, near visual acuity/visual accommodation.  Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with others and maintain confidentiality at all times.

 

Ability to speak a second language.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:  Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
